Did you notice that the clothes you buy from wal-mart almost always shrink after washing them?

Question:

Answers:
No. I have a ton of cloths from Wal-Mart. Don't use the excuse that they are cheap. Wal-Mart has carried brand names for years. All Cotton shrinks in a hot dryer but if the item was "Prewashed" it will be the same size after a proper washing and drying. Acrylics and other sythetics don't dhrink.

If you are unsure if it is prewashed or not.don't bother asking as most Wal-Mart employees will not know the answer. The best bet is this;

Jeans are generaly prewashed but try them on as many sizes at walmart do run small.
Dress shirts are not prewashed and you will need to purchase a size to 2 sizes larger.

If all else fails, save the reciept and apon the first washing that you feel the item has shrunk beyond wearability take it back within the 30 day return policy.

Though I have never bought clothes from Wal-Mart, I have to say it's all about reading the clothing labels for proper washing and drying a lot of the time. But come on, Wal-Mart isn't exactly offering up the best fabrics made in the best places. You have to know you always get what you pay for. If you liked the price, plan on buying more of it more often. I prefer to buy better labels and having it longer.
Hmmm ive bought some things from walmart
and never had the problem of them shrinking,
best bet is to wash them in cold water, and hang
to dry, then fluff up in the dryer, no way it can shrink.
Mine don't
they have shrunk on me...mens and womens clothes. So i have had to hand dry my clothes to keep them the same size!
nope but i have noticed the zippers in some other stores clothes always tend to screw up...
oooo... did i notice. sure did, puchased a pair of pants that fit fine, washed them and they became capris/crops on me. purchased shorts that fit fine, couple weeks later, they were bout too short to wear. plus i generally hang dry my good clothes, so it wasn't from the dryer. not to mention hearing other ppl talk about the smiley face's :~) clothes.. and shirts, when new are below my waist, after a wash or two, they'll be too short ;~(
but it's not only wallie world's clothes, it has also happened to name brand, but them smiley face clothes can shrink like a prune, sometimes you feel like you gained 20 pounds over nite when you put them bac on after washing them, lol...
yes also have you noticed all the recalls from them ..not only do the cloths shrink they also fade faster than other s
Never had a problem with their stuff shrinking actually.
I quite buying Wal-Mart clothes just for that reason, yes they do almost always shrink, no matter how carefully you wash them. I guess it proves, you get what you pay for.
mine dont, if you buy all cotton and wash in hot it will , its because you are not doing the right thing.
yes, because they were made and sold cheaply by companies who did not pre-shrink the materials. the fabric manufacturers are paid by the yard so obviously they wouldnt pre-shrink themselves, the clothing manufacturers usually pre-shrink the clothes so the consumer ends up with something servicable. with cheaper clothes many companies cut corners by not pre-shrinking at all so that they can crank out more units. =/ (this also happens alot with custom tailored clothing made with material that hasnt been pre-shrunk)
Yes I did notice this. I always have to buy the T-shirts in a bigger size so this doesnt happen to me.
Only buy clothes made in the U.S.A.! The second quailty clothes that are being sold at Wal-Mart are what put the texile industry out of business!
I buy my son's clothes from Wal-Mart, he is two, and very much a boy (always in the sand, dirt, etc.). We have not had a shrinkage problem. I've noted, however, that almost all of the clothes, no matter what color they are, suggest using cold water for washing. If you're still having a problem, try Target, their stuff is a little higher quality. Good luck!
