Should i really do it?
Question:should i really cut a piece of carpet out and then cut the blenched carpet and switch them?will you notice that?the bleached carpet is a very light pink color, and the only reason i am scared about it is because it is in my family room, and we r getting new furniture soon, so we don't have any furniture in that room.(the new furniture will not cover up the stain!).i am scared because you might see a line around the carpet with it's cut off!what do i do?(i can't drive!)
Answers:
im assuming your younger. just be honest and tell you parents rather than hiding it. just tell them that it was an accident and assure them that no one will tell when there is furniture there. honesty is always easier than sweating it out. trust me ive been in a few situations like that and im young like you so yeah go with honesty.
no.
No, try a good carpet cleaner firm.
do it!! WHO CARES WHAT OTHER THINK!! =)
If you cut the piece right it will look normal.
get a small area rug
i don't think that's going to end up working very well. i'd get a rug to cover it up.
well your gettin new furnishing so why dont you get the carpet removed and get a new carpet fitted in to macth your new furniture?
color it pink..try ''coolaid'' fruit punch...
just replace all of the carpet, and if there are wood floors underneath, pull up all the carpet.
I would NOT under any circumstance cut the carpet. Just tell your parents(if you're a kid/teen). If you made a stain, I'm pretty sure you'd get in less trouble for that than if they found out that you cut the carpet.
You won´t see a line if you brush the pile , which means, brush around the bit you have just inserted, to blend in with the carpet. I really think you should tell your parent´s, sure they will help to fix it
Oh no! now that you explained your situation further than the previous question about this, I realize that there is NOTHING you can do. You will be ruining the carpet even more by cutting it.. What if you cut it the wrong size? and I would be able to notice it anyways. You will just have to let your parents know what you did, and they'll figure out what to do with it... Sure they might get upset, but something like that can happen to anyone..
Good Luck!
I would get a pro to help. They can make a nice seam, your own work seem is likely to be very noticeable.
No do not cut the carpet. carpet is pulled ( stretched) when it is installed. it will not match ( my mom tried this years ago). My father still teases her.. You have a couple of options: dye the spot, or get a runner/ area rug, lastly replace the rug. I would recommend the area rug.. cheap! Plus when it dirty ya take it out side and clean it!!
I would have someone pick up the Wool-lite carpet cleaner, (you know, the commercial of squeeze-rub-brush-done).
Save the packaging and receipt, because if it does not work, then you can get a refund from the store.
You can cut a section off in an inconspicuous place, and patch it. Use a carpet needle and you shouldn't be able to see it unless you look for it. A word of caution though, make sure when you cut the piece to patch with, that the nap of the carpet is in the same direction. I patched a piece of my living room carpet, but when I did, I wasn't paying attention and cut carpet from a section with the nap running against the one in the living room. No matter how long it stays on the floor, it will never match because of that. So PAY ATTENTION! it'll work out fine if you do. And to make a carpet needle, with gloves on,(and I don't mean dressy gloves) and 2 pair of pliers, heat a long thick needle over the stove flame until it gets red. Than with the 2 pair of pliers, bend it into a half circle. Run Cold Water on it,and you have a Carpet Needle! Bye
It should be okay to switch out pieces. Follow the advice to make sure the direction of the fibers run the same way, and brush the edges of the fitted piece to blend them together.
You might also want to put a piece of carpet tape (wide heavy-duty double-sided tape) under the replacement piece to keep it from flipping up on the edges if it happens to be in a high traffic area.
The suggestion to try dying it is also a good one. Try finding a good fabric dye that is the same color as the rest of the carpet. If you can't drive to the store, call someone to take you.
Research online to find out the best way to go about doing either of these projects. As with all DIY home projects, there is some risk involved that it will not work out the way you want it. Have a back-up plan just in case.
Good luck!
