Answers:
i hate to sound stupid with this answer but here goes. use nail polish remover. if it is a light colored carpet, the bleaching effect will be minimal.

scratch it off slowly. dont use nothing liquid cause you will end up with a big stain
I agree, but do not rub it around. Pour a little on, dab it out, repeat. Rubbing it will make it worse. Once you get as much as possible out with the alcohol, wash the area with lightly soapy water so get rid of any residue.
USE 1 PART AMMONIA AND 1 PART WATER, SPRAY AND DAB WITH CLOTH, LET SIT FOR AWHILE,, THEN SPRAY A VINEGAR AND WATER SOLUTION ON TOP, THEN WIPE WITH A CLOTH,
I DID THIS WITH RED WINE STAIN, WHICH WAS PRACTICALLY THE WHOLE BOTTLE, AND IT LIFTED IT UP LIKE IT WAS MAGIC!1
You can use a little nail varnish remover, Or try freeze it of , a few ice cubes in a bag rub over , then gently scrape off with a blunt knife
I have had to get bright red nail polish out of a light beige carpet. I used "Tech" carpet cleaner and it all came out. Good luck!!
Non-acetone nail polish remover. Just blot at it until it disappears (couple minutes). Don't scrub at it though, it will smear it. :)
