Blue ink pen in the dryer; what do I do?
Question:I just finished a load of laundry only to open the dryer and discover my husband left a blue ink pen in one of his pockets. Not only is the ink all over the inside of the dryer, but has also stained a load of light-colored clothes (khakis and blouses). Will anything remove the ink stains from the clothes? How about the dryer?
Answers:
Ouch! That's pretty messy. Have you tried hairspray? I had a nasty experience with ink stains on my cotton t-shirt and was able to remove the black ink using hairspray. Read the article below, it provides a step-by-step procedure in removing ink stains. Hope this helps!
go get some mr clean
Now, now. We can't blame the husband(unless he did the laundry) Somebody didn't check to see the pockets was empty before tossing it into the water. So many dollars get washed that way.
Try some "gojo" AUTOMOTIVE SUPPLIES.
Ask for it by name. You might have lost the clothes because it is moreso for stuff that hasn't been washed yet, as the hotwater will have "bound the colors" but it will take it out of the dryer when you do it manually.
Oooohhhh, that sounds horrible! What i would rather have you do is maybe buy another one, since ink is one of the most toughest stains. At sears, they have Dryers for awesome prices. Or, you can maybe even try scrubbing it with Pine-Sol and bleach.
If its indelible ink, you're pretty much "hosed". Try a solvent like "Goo gone" and rub, rub, rub and use "comet" and vice versa. Once the ink has been partially removed, and or "set" in the drum of the dryer, it should not stain other clothes. The clothes themselves may never get all the ink out. Try a dry cleaner.
