Best way to clean vinyl miniblinds?
Question:My kitchen blinds hanging above the sink have collected a lot of dust, gunk and grime. They are so akward to wipe and the grime doesn't really come off. I am afraid if I scrub too hard I will damage them.
ANy suggestions?

I always put hot water in my tub with some laundry soap put the blinds in, then (if I'm in the mood) after they soak for a while, I just run my fingers along the slats while they are in the water and then rinse them and let them drip for a while and rehang. Good as new!
Take them down and lay them on the driveway. Wash with soap and water and rinse with the water hose. Hang to dry.

Like the other lady said, hot water in tub , take them down and soak them for a couple of hours and run a dish brush over them I put a little clorox in there too. Good luck.
I find the safe, and easy way to go about cleaning vinyl mini blinds; is to fill up either your bath tub or a large plastic tub with warm water. (not too hot) Add some bleach and tide to the water. Place the mini blinds in, and let them soak. (if very dirty, soak over night) This will help loosen all the gunk and stuff. Sometimes it will come right off! Other times you may have to wipe them down. But the gunk and stuff! comes right off. Good luck to you!
Put them either in the bath tub to clean them or take them out side put the top of blind over the fence or clothes line take a toilet brush and bucket of soapy water and scrub rinse with the garden hose.
Vinyl miniblinds are easy to remove, so you can take them off, put them in the tub with hot water and degreaser or laundry or dish soap. let them soak a few minutes then brush them with a scrub brush like a carpet brush.
Another option - 36" blinds at walmart are about $4-5. I replace them if they get to where they wont get clean.
fill a bathtub with hot water and liquid dishwasher soap
raise blinds and remove from brackets
soak blinds in the tub for 30 minutes
scrub in the tub with a soft cloth
rinse then stand on end to drain some water off
then hang and open all vanes to complete drying
