My HE kenmore front loader washing machine stinks! help!?
Question:It smells really bad inside! What do I do?
Answers:
Get a box of Backing Soda and put about a cup in the water on the low setting and then run the washer. You can use backing soda in your wash if you like, it should eliminate the problem . You do not say what kind of odor? If there is an electrical problem you will have a unmistakable electrical odor, in that case call the Sears or whoever sold you the Washing Machine, and they should take care of it.

I would suggest if it's in the tub to run a wash cycle with just bleach and water
You might want to try running vinegar through the wash cycle, too. Vinegar helps cure a whole bunch of problems like that. :)

yup bleach and hot water. had the same problem with mine. ran it that way twice -- one with a little bleach, but it didn't quite work. ran it again with a lot of bleach .. and it was perfect again. just be sure and run one more only water load unless you have whites to wash after you use this technique to make sure its all gone! good luck!
Does the HE have a "boot" between the door and the tub? If so, check to see if the boot drain is clogged. And you can pour bleach in the boot, and put a cupful in the machine, run it empty. That should take care of it for now. If there is a mold growing on the boot, you can wipe it with a bleach soaked rag, but to get rid of the smell permanently if moldy will require replacing that boot.
I cleaned out my dryer with Thieves and it worked for me so I don't see why it wouldn't work for you. I purchased it online from www.moldrx4u.com I don't know much about the product accept that it works.
