What can I use to make my polo shirts their white'st?
Question:My work shirts are a little "dingy" i need to make them whiter, the only thing is that they have black, gold, and red embroidering. I know bleach eats the colors so what do you recommend
Answers:
Oxy-clean. Just buy a tub of it and add per the directions with your laundry soap. Works great and the embroidering won't fade out
bleach for colors
Bleach for colors
I use a product called Mrs. Stewart's® Bluing. It is for colors and whites, makes them really come to life and is not destructive or cause fading like bleach... its even used on champion show dogs coats... Lots of Quality stores and supermarkets carry this product but, you can order online/ link 1
or use a locator in your area @ link 2

Boraxo Mule team powder. It freshens and brightens your wash. (Mom of 5)
arm & hammer is a good thing ..
i also agree with the lady who spoke of mrs stewarts liquid bluing.. but if you chose this product be very careful not to get it on the fabric directly as it can stain. so mix it in the water first and then add the cloths in. it really will add to the white effect.

I swear by Biz. It's a powder that you can add right to your wash, or for tough stains or discoloration I make a nice bucket of warm water, add a cup of Biz, stir it up so it disolves and soak the item. My husband and daughter always have yucky looking socks freom dirty shoes so I put that right in the wash water! Good luck!
You got a lot of good answers here and they would all work well! Another idea is to hang them out on a clothesline on a full sunny day: you would be surprised how the sun will brighten clothes (or take the color out of blue jeans!)
