How to remove vaseline stains from clothes?
Question:
Answers:
Put dish detergent on the stain 15 min before washing.
wash it
Have you tried a good grease cutting dish soap?
I use Lestoil a lot with oil-based stains. The trick is to use a solvent that is compatible with oil, but is based in a soap; this will allow the stain to launder out. I have heard that hot water will aggravate the stain (completely contradictory to what I used to think) so try cold first. Allow the Lestoil (or Pine-Sol) to soak for a while to break up the petrolatum.
Spot removal
Two parts water and one part rubbing alcohol are the basic ingredients in any commercial spot remover.
Grease, oil, tar
Method 1: Use powder or chalk absorbents to remove as much grease as possible. Pre-treat with detergent or nonÂflammable dry cleaning solvent, or liquid shampoo. Wash in hottest water safe for fabric, using plenty of detergent.
Method 2: Rub spot with lard and sponge with a non-flammable dry cleaning solvent. Wash in hottest water and detergent safe for fabric.
You can also use Pour on Undiluted White Vinegar to the stain, leave on for a few hours then launder as usual,
WD-40 will also remove laundry stains just spray on and leave for about twenty five minutes then launder as usual
Good Luck !
Its best to get to these before they go through the dryer, if it did already, it may be set, but try this anyway. Use Dawn dish soap. It will help break up the oil and get it out of there. Good luck!
Sprinkle some cornstarch or baking soda on the stain, then place the garment, stain side down, on a large rag on top of an ironing board. Iron with a hot iron on the wrong side of the stain --most oil and grease stains will come right out. (This trick works only for oil and grease, which need heat to dissolve.)
