How do I get rid of fleas...really gone, not having to fog my house every 2 weeks for months?

Question:

Answers:
Seven Dust kills flees, is safe for pets, and people(as long as you don't eat it!) Sprinkle it on carpet, floors, pets, around the doors to outside. Let it work for 2 or 3 days, then vaccum it up. If the flees return, (the egg cycle) do it one more time. This has worked for myself, and my daughter Quite well!

This is very difficult. We've had trouble with fleas in our house as well. There is only one way to be absolutely sure that you are rid of them:

First, you have to get all of your pets out of the house and apply anti-flea products to them. While they are outside, you have to bomb every single room in the house. Unfortunately, fleas are slightly smarter than you might expect - if you only bomb a few areas at a time and leave any area at all uncovered, they will hide in the safe zone and then go right back afterwards. They will hide under furniture if they can, under clothing, under papers, anywhere they can hide. You'll have to take all of your clothes and sheets and wash them at the same time.

Once you have bombed the whole house, you have to wash all your dishes and any other surfaces food might come in contact with. If you think there are any places where the fleas might have hidden, it's too late - they've already dispersed again and you have to start from scratch.

This sounds like a horrible pain, and it is. Alternatively, you can call an exterminator, which can be very expensive and still an enormous hassle, but at least you know it will be done right, and if not you can hold them accountable. I'm so sorry to hear you have this problem, and I really hope you manage to resolve it.
Have it treated professionally. The problem should be corrected after 1 treatment.
There are 4 stages to fleas: eggs, cocoon, larvae, adult. Flea bombing your home, and bathing and treating your pets, will take care of the eggs, larvae and adult fleas...but cocoons are much more stubborn. The only way to get rid of them is by direct hot steam.
Dude first kick the pets outside! They aren't paying your rent anyway, all they do is suck up your A/C all day while your at work.

Find A feed store in the phone book, and ask if the store Carry's a product called DEMON WP. I pay 11 dollars plus tax for 6 packets in a package.

You will also need a Sprayer ( you can get that at walmart for 8.88 it's a black and Decker) While at the feed store buy some ADAM"S flea and tick spray for the pets. They make a wide product line including shampoo's spray's ect.

It's high for the Adam's stuff but it works like a charm. And so does the Demon WP. You will have to respray any way no matter what. Egg's hatch blah blah blah. Spray about 3 feet to 31/2 feet around the house entry's ect. Good luck
This is a product that my wife has tried and it works well. Boric acid in powder form is beaten into the carpet. It eventually kills the fleas and destroys the eggs. It is a once-a-year treatment and will cost around $100 dollars for someone to apply the powder. Look in the phone book or Internet for firms that provide the service. The powder is harmless to people and pets and is not visible after it has been applied.

ps

You can't put the pet outside. They're not animals!
I agree with the exterminator from NJ. Have a professional get rid of the fleas. Also,
You need to treat your animals so the fleas will not get into the house. Our vet told us that fleas can come in off of shoes. Fleas can be in the yard and jump onto window screens.
I have hear also, for keeping them at bay, put a flea collor in your vacumme bag.
we used moth balls and crystals. start in the basement..wait a couple of days.do the first floor and so on... it drives them up and they don't come back down.
After you fog or dust or sprayed the most important thing is to vacuum, vacuum, vacuum and vacuum. fleas eggs continue to hatch for 3 weeks so you must vacuum, vacuum, vacuum and vacuum every day for a month. this will work. Oh did I mention to vacuum...
