Washer machine help please?
Question:Hello, I do not have a lint trap in my washer so I get a ton of lint on some of my clothing. It's not thin lint that you can easily get off with a lint roller, it's thick balls that don't come off with the roller or duct tape. I would be picking it off all day! Seeing lint on my bra through my shirt is getting really old! Thanks for your help! :)
Answers:
Wash similar fabrics together. That will prevent "pilling" or "balling".
Your washer shouldn't have a lint trap, your dryer does. You may be using too much bleach, that will break down the fibers in the fabric. Try something a bit easier on the fabrics.Good luck
There are clothes shavers that can be bought, I know for sure at Wal-Mart. Or even on-line, like the site below. It seems they make neat looking ones now. But these little battery operated gadgets will get the fuzz balls right off.
And Chuck is right, this is the dryer causing the problem. Try hang drying and if you must dry in a dryer, be careful what you wash and dry together. Like, sweats and towels do not go well together. Towels can be a real culprit in putting lint onto your clothing, especially delicate articles.
Try combing or scraping and don't buy the type of material you have this problem with. Even a good dryer doesn't seem to solve the problem.
You shouldn't wash your bras with anything else but bras. If you only wash bras with bras there shouldn't be any lint. Wash them on gentle cycle for the shortest amount of time. If you want to clean them more then the gentle cycle allows stop the wash cycle and let them soak for a few hrs before restarting it. If you are talking about your dryer you shouldn't dry bras in a dryer. Let them drip dry. Also for a lint trap missing from a DRYER call the manufacturer and they may be able to send you a replacement at little to no cost.
