This has changed my life, and most importantly- my attitude about my house & family.
I know - I'm married, I work full time and I have 2 small boys. It is very hard. I come home in the afternoon and it seems like I work all night in the house. It is very hard
I thought I was the only one with those feelings. I live alone with my dog and it's seems I'm always cleaning or straightening up. The next morning there's always dishes and some kind of clutter and little spots all over the white floor. I wonder why the house can't stay neat. I don't have anyone else to blame but the dog. Two theories, at night things don't seem so messy and when you watch TV, houses always stay neat even if there's a hundred people around. I guess it's our compulsive neatness. I find it enjoyable when I go to someones house and they push aside all kinds of junk so I can sit down and it doesn't seem to faze them.
do you have kids?
Don't try to get the house perfect, it's not worth the stress. As long as their aren't mountains of clutter
Do you possibly have kids??
That in itself is the answer.
LOL... you must not live alone. Children, husbands and roomates can do a number on your cleaning efforts. My suggestion to you is any of those people who are old enough to clean for themselves should be doing their share. I have the same problem here and I have helped control it by keeping baskets in every room to collect stray laundry, toys, and trash. Those are my big pile up items. Make little signs that tell people to take their shoes off in areas like by the front door, and have a rack or basket there for them. I have 3 older step children that visit in the summer, and I have little signs up on the back of the bathroom doors and such that remind them to leave the area as they found it, flush, wash hands, that sort of thing, It really helps. Also try using the same handy little baskets for each child if you have them. When picking up in the livingroom, divide their stuff into their own baskets and have them take it to their room to sort out. I wouldnt get anything picked up if it werent for my baskets, good luck!
