How can I get my stainless steel kitchen sink to shine like new again??
Question:It looks dull and it's only a year old.
Answers:
Go to the shop where you bought it and rub all the new ones with sandpaper and grease.
They stores (Zellers, Wal-mart etc.) have a special cleaner for stainless steel. It's a cream cleanser. I use it on my fride and stove. It won't leave that usly steak. You just need to "buff" it in.
Try vinegar and steel wool?? or baking soda??
you have to buy a certain kind of stainless cleaner to clean it. all you have to do is go to lowes or whereever you got your sink from and ask someone over by the sinks where you can gett some stainless stell cleaner or you might be able to get some there because the one hear let use get some for free
Use granular dishwasher soap. I use the Walmart brand. works great
I had the same problem so I used a brillo pad on it and it looks beautiful now. Once its back to looking like new use stainless steel cleaner on it once a week or more if you prefer and it will staying looking new and pretty. :0)
The best I have used is Cameo. It is a powder cleaner and comes in the same type of container as Ajax, Comet, one of those. It will actually strip the stainless, so there is an odor. But it does work well.
This is why we put the "satin" finish triple basin stainless steel sinks in our kitchen. I just give them a good scrub with an s.o.s. pad. I don't have to worry about scratches because the satin finish doesn't show them.
Look for a natural stone cleaner cream, I use this for all most all my cleaning at home, it´s great stuff. I don´t think you can find this product where you live. www.promonov.com It cleans Stainless steel, Silver,Copper, Brass, Bronze. all most all metals, Great for cleaning the bathroom, it has many uses . You might find something similar in some of the big stores , or hardware stores .
Use a green scotch brite scrubbing pad with some comet. Make sure that when you scrub it, you are following the natural lines that are already in the stainless steel. Rinse with warm water when you are done scrubbing and dry with a paper towel. To make the clean shine last longer, rub some baby oil into the sink. Don't use too much though! Best of luck- it works for me every time!
