Need to get cigarette odor out of house, any suggestions.?
Question:
Answers:
Wash any linens you can - curtains, spreads, etc. These hold the odors. Clean the carpets. Airing it out as much as possible should help also.
Open the windows and let it air out. Get some febreeze or oust and spray it everywhere. Then make sure you or whoever smoke outside.
MO2BQ above is right. That will work if it was just a weekend type of thing.
IF it is a house that has been smoked in for years and you're trying to get it out...good luck. Carpets will need to be professionally cleaned, curtains will need washed, and the walls/ceilings will need to be washed down too. You might not thing the washed walls/ceilings would need it, but after a steamy shower or boiling water over the stove, the walls will sweat brown water.
Good luck.
Febreeze works pretty good
Make the smoker go outside to smoke. Prevention.
Otherwise, I suppose you could pull down all your curtains and wash them once a week. Then while you're at it wash all the walls, ceilings, fixtures, scrub the floors. Then wash all throws, and pillows on your furniture. Wash all throw rugs in your house. Vacuum your carpets every day with carpet fresh. Follow all of that by spraying febreeze on everything. Then you'll want to use a room deoderizer, like Glade clean linen scent.
