How do you get rid of mould smell from books?

Question:These are some old books that I don't want to throw away, but I think that they might infect others in my library, so I can't store them properly. They don't have mould stains, they just have this unpleasant smell.
I've tried airing them and leaving them in the open air with no effect.

Answers:
Several different methods.

1. Microwave any old books to kill any still living bacteria.
2. If the book isn't "valuable" put it into a ziplock bag with a dryer sheet (the laundry kind) and seal it up for 7 days.
3.. This musty smell is most often noted in books that have been moldy or mildewed in the past. The first step is to create an enclosed chamber. This is most easily done by using two garbage cans, one large (with a lid) and one small. The object to be "deodorized" should be placed in the smaller can, which is then placed inside the larger can. Some type of odor-absorbing material should then be placed in the bottom of the larger can. Odor-absorbing materials to try include baking soda, charcoal briquettes (without lighter fluid), or kitty litter. The lid should then be placed on the larger can, and the chamber should be left for some time. You will need to monitor periodically to see how long the materials need to be left inside the chamber.
4. Sprinkle baking soda between the pages and set it out in the sun for a few days.
5. put a sheet or two of newspaper in between every few pages. Also wrap the book itself loosely in newspaper. Put it in a box for a few days. Change the newspaper a couple times every few days. Takes a little time, but it works.

Dryer sheets
Mail them to a friend in vegas and have them put them outside for a day or two
Air them out while you lysol them as you turn the pages
If it's a bad smell, spray it with air freshener. If it's that library smell, why would you want to get rid of it?! The smell of the library its like the best smelling thing in the whole world!
i've always wondered that too
You have to kill the mold.

Lysol may work, but you have to hit every page.
I think once that smell gets in there it is impossible to remove 100%
Spray some ammonia on them and then clean with a slightly damp pad.
try some bounce sheets
