Good & effective house-cleaning tips out there?

Question:It just seems that no sooner have I finished, then it's all dusty again! And what about getting those windows streak-free on the inside and out? Who has a system that works?

Thanx in advance!

Answers:
right , for windows, when doing the inside and outside. the best thing to do is use a leather that you would use for drying your car. when you do this do the out side left to right and inside up to down. this way you will know what side it is if there are any smears. the best thing to use is washing up liquid in hot water. sometimes you can add some lemon juice to it. you can also use newspaper to give it a wipe over to stop the smears.
the dusting i can help with. mix a concoction of lemon juice and cooking oil.put together in a bowl in equal amounts. the best is 2 tablespoons of each. mix it and using a clean lint free cloth or duster dip cloth in to mix, and wipe over surfaces. it shines nice, smells nice due to the lemon and stays like it for a while. dust once or twice a week then DO NOT USE ON WOODEN STAIRS OR LAMINATE FLOORING. THE OIL WILL MAKE IT SLIPPERY

if will make love to the person who gives me the formula for streak free glass, no product on the market works !.
For the windows clean them when it is not so humid I know it sound crazy but I saw this on tv one time the less humidity in the air the less the streak. If you use paper towel to do windows make sure it does not have lotion in it. When I do mirrors in the bathroom I keep the lights off less humidity less streaks. also make sure you are keeping you filters changed on you furnace it will help with the dust. I have to dust almost every week for I have my windows open all the time and it does get dusting more often.

Windex I use on windows but if your windows pretty dirty I will use vinegar diluted with water.
Tell me about it.
I find spending 10 minutes a day better than an hour each week. Always use a wet duster as it collects more. Put a small amount of baby oil on too as it stops dust clinging later.
Always vacuum then dust as the dust will just kick up again.
I also find that silver coloured items such as TVS and stereos show less dust that black ones.
As does light coloured furniture rather than dark.

As for the windows the answer is to dry as soon as you clean. Then cover with nets or blinds so no one sees if any streaks remain..lol
vinegar is awesome for cleaning more things then u think even possible,so google the word "vinegar" and see where it takes u! :-) works like magic 2
many more websites available as well, just look it up
My top tip...pay someone to do it;Dhehehe

No, not possible for me either!

Apparently if you put a few drops of vinegar in the water when washing windows, it will give a streak-free, shiny finish?

Also my friend swears that using the Sun and only the Sun newspaper really works!!

Not tried either!! But one will when one gets ones finger out and off this lap-top!lol

Each night clean the kitchen and use wet swifter to keep floor cleans.
Well the dust is always a problem. If you look in your super market for duster wipes called Spontex, this will save you a lot of time when cleaning. These little duster are great, you dust 1 day , then no need to dust for the next couple of day´s. Another good tip for the window´s I use news paper and vinegar to clean them. No streaks, just remember to use gloves , so you won´t get your finger´s covered in the dye from the paper. Sometimes the good old Fashioned way is better
Buy a set of E-Cloths - not the cheap immitations. The fluffy cloth can be used with or without chemical cleaners to clean just about anything and the silky cloth will leave all surfaces streak-free. They can be bleached and also washed in your machine and will last for years. Once you have them housework becomes less of a chore and more of a pleasure.
Happy cleaning.
Good old fashioned 'Windowlene' is the best! Not the spray but the one in the pink bottle. I have used it for years as did my mum.
This may sound overly simple, but try cleaning with a bucket of warm water with a few drops of dawn dish soap. Lint free towels also help with the dust. I clean everything in my house this way and it really works. It's also the best way I've found to wash windows and mirrors. Be sure to dry everything thoroughly! Most cleaning products leave a residue that streaks, but good old dish soap cuts through all of that and just leaves a nice shine. Good luck!
For your windows use e cloth. i promise it works, i use them for all glass and my chrome.
use water and a touch of vinegar through it on a chamois to clean windows and shine clean with newspaper, also dont clean windows when the sun is shining on them as this will make them streaky
