How to clean ink stains in my shirts?
Question:what can I do to clean my shirts with some ink stains if normal detergents don't do it
Answers:
Yep, hairspray works. I had a similar accident before, and was able to remove the stain from my cotton shirt using hairspray. You might want to read the article below, it provides a step-by-step procedure in removing those annoying ink stains. Hope this helps.
Take a small tub.
Empty into it a bottle of ink.
Immerse your shirt and keep it soaking 15 minutes.
Dry it out.
You would have camouflaged the stain.
OR
Best is to use soap and water. Ink does not cause permanent stains. Wash over and over again. The ink will remove.
As a last resort:
Try bleaching powder; Calcium oxi chloride - Caocl2. It bleaches the ink; but beware it may even bleach the colour of the shirt.
Oxy Clean carpet cleaner!
Hair spray works great. Spray the stain and rub it with a rag that you don't want to keep. The ink comes off on the rag. Repeat until the ink is gone.
I agree with the hairspray method. It works best if used before you wash the shirt. Then wash normally.
if you get it right away, spray hair spray on the stain, let it soak in and the wash it.
My son works for Old Navy and he got the tip from a customer when he accidentally marked a new shirt while assisting her. He came home at the end of his shift, we tried it then and it still worked. I wouldn't wait too long.
Nothing else has worked for me. My husband had a pen explode in one of his shirt pockets and the soap he used immediately did little actually seemed to spread the ink and set the stain!
Good luck. This never seems to happen on clothes we don't care about!
try fels nappa bar soap and rub in on stain..not sure i spelled the name of the soap right, you can buy at grocery store
Hairspray works the best for me. It may appear that the ink is spreading, but just keep spraying and it will disappear.
I would try oxi clean and if that didn't work I'd go and look at the RIT products. RIT makes a product that gets dyes out of clothing and that might work for you.
