Will using a carpet washer ruin my floorboards?

Question:I am wanting to buy a carpet cleaner so that I can clean my mats and carpets, but I am concerned that it may ruin my floorboards. Has anyone had experience with this. Thanks

Answers:
I have had 2 different kinds of carpet cleaners... bissel and now, a hoover. I love the hoover much better.

the trick I use is to clean the carpets and then go over them one more time just sucking out the water. moving the cleaner slowly across the carpet, overlapping paths, to make sure most the water is extracted.

I have never had ruined floorboards in the 15 years I have cleaned my own carpets!

You can do this, but you have to suck all the water out that you possibly can, then run fans and open windows to dry it out as fast as possible. As long as you do this your floorboards should be uneffected.
