OK...I love this question cause all of my friend and family are constantly asking me how I make my families shoes last as long as they do.
Leather shoes are easy to keep clean!! If you dont have the time or just plain dont want to toss them in the washer than use a toothbrush and 409 (or some sort of kitchen cleaner). It works wonders. Try it on flip flops and sandals too!! I have had a pair of white flip flops for 2 summers now and they still look brand new.
wear them while washing the car. then take them off and dry them in the back window of your car.
how are you
if they are canvas, then you can't!! if they are leather or "leather type", i use baby wipes to clean them.
best way I've ever found to clean white sneakers is.TOOTHPASTE!
yeap- put toothpaste on an old tooth brush and brush-works wonders!
if they are white, use clorox clean up... you can even soak you laces in it. works great!! just like brand new
Get a bucket, plastic trashcan, or dishpan that they will fit into.
Pour prespotter on the dirt first, let it set up a few minutes. Then put some detergent on a little brush--nail brush,
old tooth brush whatever, and scrub those dirty spots.
Then soak the sneakers in warm to hot water with lots of detergent in that container you found. At least 30 minutes, then run them under the faucet until they aren't soapy any more. Put them aside to dry; sun is good for white sneakers, not so much for colors, because it fades/bleaches them. When they are dry, and clean, spray them with hairspray or spray starch, it will help keep them cleaner until next time.
I had this pair of white chucks I used to wear to cut the grass. I washed them in the laundry with bleach and it didn't work as well as I thought it would to get the grass stains out. But ya know what did?? Those Mr. Clean magic erasers. It worked great!! You can try that. Or get a scrub brush or toothbrush and scrub them with laundry detergent or dish soap. Rinse clean and dry outside. If those don't work, you might need to get a product made for cleaning shoes.
Windex works wonders! Except deeper scuff marks. I use it with a damp paper towel or sponge, then let air dry. Also for tougher spots, try nail polish remover.
I find just scrubbing with a toothbrush works great, if necessary Comet works well on a stubborn stain.
