Storing stuff in the Humidity of the South?
Question:My family & I live in Georgia. We are originally from the West Coast & not use to all the humidity, mold & heat. We have a lot of stuff that we have to store in our garage. I'm not sure how to store it. I have varied things that I do not want ruined, like pictures, year books, things from child hood, maternity clothing... that kind of stuff. How do I keep them safe as possible? What kind of containers do I use, is there anything special I should do? Thanks!

Welcome to the South dear. Using the big plastic totes (like Rubbermaid or other brands) work pretty good in keeping this from getting ruined. Do not use cardboard - bug and mold magnet. The plastic totes will also stack on top of each other and come in a varity of sizes. They are an expense but it is well worth it.
The plastic totes should help, but they aren't hermedically sealed or anything. I may suggest storing things in the attic rather than the garage, if you have one. The attic will be super heated and therefore won't have as much humidity.
