When using a steam cleaning machine to clean carpet, does one kind of solution really work better than another?

Question:

Answers:
Steam cleaning is AWFUL for your carpet. Soap just makes a carpet attract dirt. Also you cant get all the water back out that you soak the carpet with. Causes mold to grow in your carpet pad. Call Chem Dry!

I've used several different types of cleaning solutions and prep-solutions and I've learned that what really matters is the quality of the carpet cleaning machine itself. If it has good suction with good brush action, then most cleaners sold in stores like Wal-Mart or Target have the same results. My preference since I have pets who shed, is to use the Bissel-brand for pet smells and allergies. It works just fine with my own carpet cleaner.
Bissell carpet cleaner with two caps of Downy fabric softener does wonders for my carpet. My kids are rough on my carpet and that solution seems to work wonders and makes your house smell like heaven. Hope that helps. let us know?
I don't recommend steam cleaning, as bacteria grows between 40&140 degrees, dry chemicals is the best, however steam cleaning is the cheapest,so, try to find a quick drying, non-detergent based solvent, for the least residue.
