Cleaning Window Screens?
Question:What is the best method and cleaning tool/products to use for cleaning window screens. Mine are easy to remove and replace back in the windows but they are very dusty and need a thorough cleaning. thanks
Answers:
use a garden hose.
the vacuum cleaner works pretty good if you don't have time to take em down & wipe them with soapy water
spray 409 cleaner on them and srub them a little and hose them down .them come out looking brand new.
Take the screens out and put them in your shower. Use the shower spray on high hot water to rinse them down. If further cleaning is needed use a soft bristle scrub brush dipped in a mixture of hot water and detergent. Rinse.
You can leave the screens in the bathtub to drip dry.
I usually just take the garden hose to them and then spray with a cleaner like 409 and use a medim stiff brush on both sides and scrub gently and rinse let dry and put them back on!
i use my vacuum's rug attachment to suck all the crud off the screens. then i just lean the screens against the fence and hose em.
Use a piece of carpet. They probably won't need anything more.
in the bathtub with the shower head spray with all purpose cleaner if the screens are old replace with new screening
the old metal type screem does get old and you can put your figures through as i have found out!!!!!
If at all possible I would take the screans and put them in the tub with some dish soap. Use hot water and rinse them realy well. I'd also use a soft brush to lightly scrub them down. This works for me.
