How to clean marble counter tops and restore shine?

Question:My marble tops are very dull and it's probably because I clean them with soft scrub. Can I restore the shine? What should you use to clean marble?

Answers:
I recommend that our clients get them professionally cleaned and buffed and after that we use Stone Tech products, one it's for cleaning and if you want them to shine then use their revitalizer, it's like Pledge but for stone, marble and granite.

wax them
To clean, instead of using Soft Scrub all the time, dust once or twice a week with a soft cloth, and wipe periodically with a cloth dampened in warm water and, if necessary, a pit of pH-neutral cleaner formulated for stone (also available from stone suppliers). If you do use Soft Scrub, I believe you have to dilute it quite a bit.

Don't use soap, detergent, all-purpose cleaners, or citrus-based cleaners-- products that are too alkaline or acidic can etch stone. Don't use abrasive powders or dusting sprays, which can damage the surface. Marble is softer than something like granite and is easy to scratch and chip.

If the polish dulls, it can be revived with a commercial polishing agent (available from stone suppliers), but this should not be done more frequently than every three or four years, and the counter should be resealed afterwards.

You can also have a professional rebuff and reseal the counters.

Reapply sealer when drops of water no longer bead on the surface. Protect marble from acidic foods; vinegar, lemon, and tomato will etch instantly.
