How do you remove excess bag balm from daughters hair and clothes?

I have three kids and I know this one. I would use dawn dish soap because it cutts the greese in the bag balm. It won't hurt her head either because my son was cleaned with dawn when we were camping in Alaska. He was two at the time he just smelled clean like dawn.
