How do i keep my room clean and organized?

Question:i can clean my room but never keep it clean

Answers:
It's great that you can get your room clean! One tip that might help to keep it clean is to eliminate as much clutter as possible. The less clutter you have, the easier it will be to keep the space clean and organized, so get rid of anything that you do not need or truly love to have in your room.

Once you have gotten rid of the clutter, make yourself a chore chart. Include one or two small tasks to do each day to help keep the room in order. These tasks should take you no more than 15 minutes to do yet that 15 minutes will make a huge difference in how organized your room stays.

Then set aside one day each week or month (whichever fits into your schedule the best) to do a deep clean.

pick up after yourself!

i'm assuming that you are an adult, so here goes
mom is not there to clean your room anymore.

make sure that you pick up everything on the floor
then you can organize that stuff and either put it away or throw it way.
then organize your desk or dresser.

keep on doing this for 21 days and you will form a lifelong habit!

hope this helps you!
I too used to have this problem.
I started making a concerted effort to pick up my clothes when i took them off at the end of the day and throwing them in the hamper, as well as putting my shoes in the right spot.
Don't leave food and cups all around, this clutters up your room.
Maybe you have too much stuff...I actually decided to get rid of stuff that I had for a long time that i didn't use or need. I gave it to charity...they say anything you haven't worn in a year throw away.
I would say stay on top of the clutter and it will get easier! :)
Organize your things, give everything a place to be.
Also what might help, is to go through your things and get rid of the things you do not use or things you will not use or need anymore.
Hope this helps.
I usually get my "bigger plans" ideas from watching "Clean Sweep" on TLC station on Sat. mornings. Other than that, comon normal cleaning, and organizaiton--a place for everything, and everything in it's place. Clean clothes need to be put where they belong, either folded, in dresser drawers, hung up on hangers in the closet, etc. You need a laundry basket to put your dirty clothes into once you take them off. If you have worn an outfit once (in a week's time), place iit in a special lace in your closet (not on the floor) knowing it was worn once, and can be worn one more time, before washing it. If you can, go to your local inexpensive sotre (ie Wal-Mart/K-Mart etc.) and see about getting one or two of those storage carts on wheels, you can remove the wheeels once home if you want to, to keep it stationery. Use those drawers to keep other items in a place where you know where they are. One drawer for papers that are important, one drawer for books you want to read (magazines too, if you want). Have a place (like an under bed storage bin) for your clean sheets (folded) and maybe another bin for extra blankets. Also, back to the closet, if you want/need, see about getting a hanging storage (mulitple compartment) for your closet, for shoes, nylons, accessories, etc. One tip I will give to you that my sister gave to me several years ago, answer this question, How do you want this room to be? I have used that question to help me rearrange furniture in different rooms, and organize things how I want it to look, and "feel" when I walk into the room. Budget also has something to do with it. If you really want to organize, you could do your closet with your clothes in an order of either outfits, or put all slacks together, all blouses together, dresses, skirts, etc. from longest, to shortest if you want to. It's your room, and your closet. The aother important part of this, is once you have a place for everything, the key is to keep putting things back into the place they belong-the MOomoent you are done with those items. Not, "in a minute", or "later", or "I'm too tired to do it right now". Keep in mind, everything has a place, and everything in it's place. That is the key to keeping your room clean and organized. Oh yes, the cleaning. Dust and vacuum once a week. And, change your sheets once per week. Make your bed every day-as you get up out of the bed--then it's done. Aside from the one day you get to strip the bed, and put clean sheets on. Declutter the surfaces each day. That is again, everything has a place, and goes into it's place. Then it won't get all cluttered. It takes 21 days-or three weeks to establish a new habit. You will get into this routine to where it will be automatic for you. You will be surprised as to how well you do, so quickly, and keep it up. Take care.
Clean up behind yourself, this will eventually become habit after a while

Discard unwanted items and throw away junk mail this will help reduce the clutter

Store your possesions neat and tidily - everything has it's place.

Don't have too many ornaments on display as they can act as dust traps.
