How old do you need to be to do the laundry?
Question:I am 15 and I was wondering how old do you have to be to start doing your own laundry?
The reason why I was wondering is because I got a new job and they gave us a uniform to wear for work and my boss said I need to take it home to wash at least once in a while.
My mom is kind of busy and she forgets to wash my uniform.

Hello Magpie, You are old enough, If you have a job , you must look smart . If you mum has time to show you the controls of the washing machine, that would be great. Or you can hand wash your uniform. Look at the label on the inside of the uniform , see what temp it tell´s you . Sure warm water a little soap, give a good rinse, to make sure all the soap is out . Then hang outside . But ask your mum, she will be happy you want to do your own laundry

you can do it if you know how. I learned when i was ur age. i never did it though. well, I did a while ago, but my mom loves to do it.

We started during our laundry as soon as we were tall enough to reach the dials... jsut ask your mom to show you how.

my goodness kiddo, my kids were 8 and 5 and doing some of their laundry. granted the five year had to stand on a chair. i gave them a list on how to sort, what temp water to use and how much detergent. alot of people thought i was awful but the kids weren't very nice if something wasn't washed up when they wanted it and i was a divorced mom working long hours. so i told them this is how its done and then they had no reason to flip out on me anymore.
I was 10 when I first started out. It takes some time to master the basics like what water settings for various clothes, but once you get it down it's pretty easy to do it.
dude you have problems ive known how to wash clothes since i was 11 its not that hard all you do is put the clothes in put soap in and press the button.

I was washing and putting away my own clothes when i started junior high. My almost 3 year old helps me separate the clothes. I would say your definitely of age especially if you have a job
My kids started doing the laundry when they could reach the bottom of the washer without standing on a chair. Age 9.
They started with towels, and sheets. And they were
doing all their laundry before they finished 8th grade.
i started doing laundry when was 12 cause my mom went back to work. 15 is a good age just make sure you know the water temp so you don't shrink or fade the clothes. I wrote out lists for my girls and it helped a lot. I think its great that you want to start to do this I'm sure your Mom will be proud and more then happy to explain the procedure., Good luck with your new job.
My kids where doing there own laundry once they were tall enough to reach the knobs. If you are old enough to have a job you are old enough to do your own laundry.
