What kind of washline does NOT SAG! Have had several and all sag?
Question:Until this year all washlines had did not sag, but needed new one after 5 years, bought 2 and both sag a lot; are polyester/nylon blend and other was just cotton. No idea what old ones were. wHAT MATERIAL does not sag and where can it be bought??
Answers:
Try wire --Try a prop pole in the middle or put your end poles closer together.
Bill covers it all well. I never saw a clothesline that did not sag. When I was a kid 48 years ago, my mother used real rope and it sagged. But she always had 4 or 5 poles propping it up. If you used aircraft cable it still would sag some.
When I had clotheslines, mine did the same thing until I bought plastic-coated steel wire at Home Depot. You cut it with wirecutters, but I guarantee it will not sag. It's the same size as the polyester blends. If you tighten it to start with, it will not sag, it does not rust and won't mar your clothes. It comes in a roll. I used that roll for years until I sold the house and no longer needed clotheslines.
Try a number ten single strand plastic coated wire with turnbuckles on the ends to tighten when they start to sag. It can be bought in the electrical department in home Depot, etc.
