How do you remove ink from a t-shirt press, like when you print the transfer the wrong way (facing up)?
Question:We just started doing t-shirt printing at work, and the first t-shirt I made I printed with the transfer facing up. Bad! Now the ink is stuck to the top of the press, and I don't know how to get it off. Does anyone have any experience with this? If I can't get it off, it will come off on any t-shirts printed afterwards.
Answers:
Clean the cooled surface w/mineral spirits. However, make sure to wash off spirits once transfer is washed off.
OR
Get a plain shirt or towel and put it in press. Wiggle item around until all transfer material comes off onto it.
When the machine is cold, not hot or warm, clean the patten with mineral spirits. Just wipe it down and it should come clean.
