How do I remove stains from a Butcher Block counter top?
Question:My butcher block counter top has dark stains from water around the sink and where people have left wet glasses sitting on it. I have tried chlorox to no avail. Sanding it does not go deep enoughl Any suggestions?

There are to other things you can use to lighten the stains.
The first one is Oxalic Acid and the second is hydrogen peroxide and third one is sodium hydroxide (caustic soda)
They are all sold in hardware stores. Each of these products target certain stains in timber so you may need to try all three to get the end result.

Try letting coca cola set on it for a while. it usually gets anything out.
