How can I avoid lint on my line dried laundry?
Question:So I dry all laundry but intimates on a clothes line. I always wash in cold water, and we wear a lot of dark clothes, so lint has been becoming an issue. I use fabric softener in the washer. How can I reduce lint and the stiffness of our clothes? I really don't want to use warm water to wash or my dryer, our electric bill is outrageous and water and gas to heat it doesn't come cheap either, lol. Thanks!

This is an easy one. All you need to do is add a white vinegar to the rinse cycle INSTEAD of fabric softener... This is proven to remove lint from clothes. It will also make them soft, and they will smell nice. it also kills germs and bacteria that can set into clothes. This is a echo friendly way to help the environment and cut down the cost of doing laundry too...

I had the same problem and I hate to say it but the only thing that worked for me was to put the clothes in the dryer for ten minutes. I don't use heat but those few minutes in the dryer take the lint off and my clothes don't have as many wrinkle lines in them :)
I hang my laundry all the time! I have been able to stop the lint somewhat by only washing sweaters with sweaters, shirts with shirts, towels with towels, jeans with jeans, and so forth. As far as the stiffness the new Downey Simple Pleasures helps more then the other brands, but there still is some stiffness.
I make sure that I only wash towels together. I only seem to have lint when a towel is washed with my other laundry. I use Downy Fabric softener it keeps my clothes soft.
Clothes on the line will not be quite as stiff when you hang them in a shady spot on a windy day.
