ceder wood chippings in a sandwich bag with miniature holes in the bag
I do believe cedar will help, and they sell cedar balls, chips, slats, etc these days.
Space bags
It is just wrong to use moth balls.it has to really hurt those little suckers to have their balls used in such an inhumane way.
You can buy these round cedar balls or other cedar wood shapes that are sanded and won't scratch or snag the cloths. . For some reason moths don't like cedar. They even sell cedar strips to line dressor drawers or your entire closet.
The best way to keep moths away is to hang your clothes outside in the sun and brush and shake them vigorously. the moth larvae hate bright light. also, be sure the clothes are clean before you put them away. the larvae seek out food stains and sweat.
After cleaning and hanging out in bright sun, put the clothes in a plastic bag. make sure the place where you have put them is clean. vacuum for eggs and larvae.
cleanliness is the best defense. If you see moths you have a big problem because they have already laid eggs and the larvae are there. the moths don't eat your clothes, the larvae do.
