I ran over a skunk, how do I get the smell off the bottom of my car?
Question:I ran it through a car wash but it still wreaks! It's horrible. I think the stink sack must have exploded all on the bottom of my car. I get sick just riding in it. Can anyone help me?
Answers:
Call the insurance company and have it totaled:)
Try this:
1 quart 3% Hydrogen Peroxide
1/4 cup Baking Soda
2 tbsp Dish Detergent(dawn)
Tomato juice also helps neutralize the odor
The hard part will be washing the bottom of your car with either of these.
You could also try going through a car wash with undercarriage washers. How many times it will take is anyones guess though.
Also open your hood and wash out the engine compartment. This air can get sucked into the car ac.
get tomato juice in a bottle and spray under it then give it a good rinsing with the water hose...thats the only thing i would do unless you want to go to a car shop and see if they have anything there that is made for that problem
I am sorry, laughing and typing don't mix. I have always heard that tomato juice will get rid of skunk. Get you a pump up garden sprayer, a whole bunch of tomato paste and water, and spray it down. Better yet, if you have a kid make them do it. Good luck, and let me know if it actually works!!
drive through automatic carwash. they clean the under carrige of your car very good.
I'd take it to a car wash that offers an under body flush.
That might not completely get rid of it right away it it will make it a lot more bearable.
Even if you do nothing the smell will go away in a couple days by itself.
tomatoe juice and time lol bless your heart done that. it is a horrible smell
"Skunk Off" odor remover. It removed skunk odor from pets or fabric. I don't see why you couldn't spray under your car.
But I've ran over skunks. the smell eventually goes away

oh my. sorry to hear that.. try using pure distilled vinegar and spray it under your car. After it dries, keep doing it until the smell goes away.
They just did something like this on Mythbusters - check out their website and see if it is there.
