Try using shaving foam. Saw it on Martha Stewart, tried it and it worked.
if you have standard stanless or crome use clr or kaboom it works well
One part Vinegar and one part water in a spray bottle will keep your faucets SUPER SHINY! You can use it on your mirror, and windows too. It really works!

Chromed faucets should take nothing more than wiping and polishing with a soft cloth. If there is hard water build up try saturating a cloth with white vinegar and wrapping it around the area. White vinegar with disolve hard water scum. If that does not take it off, you might try a product like BonAmi to polish it off. Don't use regular cleanser as it will scratch the finish. Finally, visit your automotive store for chrome cleaner and microfiber clothes that they use on cars. You are dealing with the same surface as your car trim.
Be gentle. Once scratched, chrome cannot be fixed.
