What should I do about my grout?
Question:I have beige grout and beige tile. The grout was never sealed, and now it is dirt colored. I've heard you can paint it! Is there and easier way? I can't afford to regrout, there is alot!

Why can't you afford to regrout it? Fairly easy, a 5 lb container is around $15.00. It goes a very long way when most of the grout is already in. Then you need a rubber trowel ($4) and a huge sponge ($2) and a mixing bucket. Its better than painting it. (And far easier and less toxic than using highly abrasive grout cleaners.)
There are good grout cleaners on the market. Clean the grout well and then seal it. You can find the products at your local hardware store, Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.
Zep grout cleaner from Home Depot. Use rubber gloves!
It cleans like a dream but you do NOT want it on your skin.
Put it on, let it soak, rinse/wipe it off, hardly any work, yipee!
Bleach , water and scrubbing. But you may still have to regrout after. Its not expensive and not hard.
Costs under $20 and mixes up with hot water. Smooth on with a cheap rubber spatula, leave for 10-15 minutes then clean residue off tiles with an old dry cloth - easy and not expensive.
Had to do our shower recently and was surprised how easy it was. Best to do a smaller area at a time if its alot to do.
