Why do dark/black clothes dry faster than whites?

Question:

Answers:
because they absorb all the light on them (which makes it look black) whereas white reflects it, therefore the heat from the light absorbed will help dry it quicker.

Dark clothes absorb heat
It may be because dark colors tend to hold heat in more than light colors. For instance if you wear a black T-shirt out in the sun you can feel the warmth on your back..etc...=)
dark clothes absorb light and convert it to heat. Whereas white clothes reflect light, so they have not absorbed it to help dry the clothes.
1) Could be that your dark load includes your bluejeans, which always take longer to dry, whether they are dark or light.

2) Could be that you habitually do your light colors first, taking the dryer longer to heat up. By the time you put your darks in the dryer is already heated.
Dark clothes absord heat/light faster.

White reflects all wavelengths of light.

It's why it is hotter to get into a dark car than a light car. The dark car is absorbing, not reflecting the light.
Probably because they attract the heat, causing them to dry faster. Makes sense to me. :)
