Do you put everything in the dishwasher?

Question:I have a dishwasher but still do a fair bit of washing up by hand - pots and pans, awkwardly shaped things, wooden things, things that state they not suitable for the dishwasher .... do you put absolutely everything in the dishwasher or do you wash up by hand as well?

Answers:
well as minging as i sound yeah i put EVERYTHING in my dishwasher! its my favorate piece of kit, i always said i wouldnt have one but then i house sat for a mate and fell in love with hers! i told hubby i wouldnt come home unless he brought me one, he had to take out half my kitchen to do it but i love it, you never have to see a dirty cup in your kitchen. the only thing i hand wash is my good glasses, we only use them at christmas so no big deal, i say go for it, you dont have a dog and bark yourself. i even put the soap powder drawer from my washing machine in it when im running a cleaning cycle with one of them little bottles of finnish

I don't have enough money to buy a dishwasher but i'm glad. What is the point if you still have to handwash?
Everything goes in. I even put my oven shelves and hob attachments in.
yeah, real lazy!
I all goes in although pet bowls go separately
Yes, of course, especially if the instructions state not suitable for the dishwasher. And I know of no dishwasher that will really clean pots and pans properly - do you?
we still have to wash up our saucepans as they will get ruined in the dishwasher, but put them in now and again. You can't put wooden things in the dishwasher and I've also got some mugs we don't put in as they are handpainted and don't want them to fade.
I handwash my Le Creuset pots as they have wooden handles and they are too expensive to trust to the dishwasher! I also handwash wine glasses as they always have watermarks otherwise and they do get scratched eventually.
Yes, I put absolutely everything in my dishwasher. Including my friends, the stapler, the rainbow outside, my favourite books, the telephone and beer. Everything nice and clean now.
Sorry about that, couldn't help myself... Basically we only put cutlery, plates, bowls and glasses in ours. Not pots and pans or wooden things or stuff like that. We wash up by hand too.
Everything goes in. I don't have anything that isn't suitable for the dishwasher! If it has been a paticulary busy day and we have lots of dishes I fill it then put the rest in the sink for the next load.

Had a dishwasher for 8 months and haven't washed a thing by hand since then.
I put everything in,it ruined my wok-took the lining off.I don't fancy putting the dogs bowls in though.
It depends how i feel at the tI'me but i do quite often put all the saucepans in the dishwasher. If im feeling particularly lazy, I'll even put in wooden stuff too but don't tell my boyfriend coz he gets mad when i do it!!
id be losssst without the dishwasher.
i dont think ive done washing up for years.
hi i put everything in dishwasher pots pans i only have things that are dishwasher safe , and i put a glass in dishwasher that sed not dishwasher proof it didnt harm it phew, it was a gift and i would of hated it if it had ruined it , so only buy dishwasher safe things .......
I put everything and I do mean absolutely everything in mine!
Pots, pans, crockery,cutlery, wooden spoons!
Even vases and trays!
There is very little these days that won't go in there!
My daughter rinses everything first - but I don't!
I only clean things by hand if there is food badly baked/stuck on!
But my dishwasher copes very well with most things - after all that is what it is for!
same as everyone else. we put in what is allowed, and wash by hand what isn't. i usually go over utinsils with a cloth. there is nothing i hate more than utinsils coming out with lip marks on them. we also put our tooth brushes in there, or hair brushes and combs, bath brushes. our sink mats and drain catchers. those bath sponges and nylon bath scrungies, and ish scrubbies too. anything that needs sanitizing from time to time as well. ~~mafi
I don't have a dishwasher, so I guess the answer is no!
Yes, I even put my wooden spoons in and after 3 years they're still OK.
You can also put your dishcloth in, on the top shelf - the hot water will help sanitise it.
you have to wash some things by hand although a dishwasher lightens the load
Yes you can put everything in the dishwasher except fine china this you must not put in a dishwasher it is sensitive to the detergents. I hand wash things I am in a rush for or have no room for Good Luck !
you cant put everything in the dishwasher or you would ruin some things. you could buy a lot of tv dinners for the microwave. i do Worth 3 kids we eat a lot of cereal and waffles and use a lot of silverware. i usually can wait all day before having a load of dishes and sometimes only have to wash about 2-4 things, not to bad if you ask me
Everything goes into my dishwasher.
Unfortunatly, not everything.
My car and motorbike won't fit.
you can put anything, but not pots or bowls with hard stains because they will not be washed well.
Hi,
You cant beat a good hand job.x
I used to laugh at my mom for practically washing everything before she put stuff in. Hubby doesn't and "food sand" ends up on the top of and inside upended mugs, etc. I rinse first. I have a flower pot in the sink that I stick my flatware in water to soak the fork tines til I run the DW as I was sick of finding bits of scrambled eggs, etc. dried into difficult notches. I scrub burnt stuff off pots, but let DW take care of grease. It ruins pewter, dulls the gold rim on teacups. To sanitize sponges & scrubbies I put them damp in Microwave for 2 minutes. Have put wooden stirring spoons in, but usually not, and never my good salad set. The good steel cutting knives go in, though not supposed to. The Jennaire "brickette blocks" aren't supposed to go in but sometimes I throw them in with the grills (it ruined the teflon griddle) and no harm so far - not clean but at least the flame-up grease is gone. Leaves a mess of black flakes in the DW which I paper towel out but it beats scrub-brush and soap in the sink.
I put everything in apart from really delicate glasses. I put wooden utensils in - it doesn't damage them just takes the colour out of them
I never wanted a dishwasher in the first place but it was my husband's answer after I asked him if he would do the washing up every night as I always cook. Needless to say he has no idea how to load or unload and I hate doing it as much as the actual washing up!
yeah,i put everything in the dishwasher plates, sliverware, pots
and pans ,cups, everything but the dog .
