How do i clean...?
Question:a pair of steel toe cap boots that i have. i need them clean but are covered in spots of paint ( alot of paint) and dirt, would white spirits or petrol remove the paint, but would it also damage the material? any other suggestion are welcome besides buying new ones
Answers:
white spirit should do it. try it on a small area of the boots first and if it works with no bad effects you can do it all!
I would think white spirit or turps could do the job, just rinse well with cold water sponge , then add polish straight away or saddle soap . this will keep the leather soft
seems like a stupid answer but if you dont want to take the chance of using white spirits incase you ruin them then why dont you try a permanent maker pen...no harm trying on a spot or two
I think white spirit will take off top material, the only way is to pick off paint spots. Or you could try 'white wizard' from www.lakelandlimited.co.uk that will take the stains off of anything without damaging it. about 4.99 a pot
