What is a good way to clean the stove drip trays?
Question:My stove's drip trays under the burner have stuck on stains that won't easily come off even after using a brillo pad. Any suggestions?
Answers:
I hate those things.ugh! lol.j/k.I know what your talking about. Every 6 months or so I just buy new ones from Walmart $8.or so.
Or if you don't want to buy new ones:
1. Remove them from the burner
2. Put them in the oven heat for about 1 hour on about 200*.
Turn off the heat.
3. Spray them & your oven with self cleaning oven cleaner (self cleaning my foot) It's in the big orange bottle, the one that makes the fumes and makes you feel like your suffocating.
4. Let them stay in over night
5. They should just wipe clean the next morning.
6. Rinse, dry well and put them back in place.
7. Wipe down your oven with wet wash cloth, reheat oven afterwards 200* for about 15 minutes..turn off heat.let cool.and where ever it turned white is leftover cleaner that needs to come out.keep repeating till there are no more white spots.
Hope that helps.
Buy replacements.
Soak in pinesol
Remove the drip trays from the stove. Lay a single sheet of paper toweling on each pan and moisten with ammonia. Place them in a plastic bag and close the bag. Leave for several hours or overnight. Open bag (pointed away from face) and remove the parts. Wash, rinse and dry.
I put them in the dishwasher on pots and pans cycle.
You'll only be able to get them so clean. What I've been doing for years is covering them with foil. Clean up is as easy as changing the foil.
steam them clean.
Or spray heavily with Simple Green and soak in hot water until the water cools and then it should come right off.
if you have a self cleaning oven, put them in side when your cleaning it........
Clean stainless steel burner pans on stoves by putting them in a large pan, adding enough water to cover, and 3/4 to 1 cup baking soda. Simmer on low for about 1 hour, then wash with regular detergent. Any stains that remain can be removed by ribbing lightly with a steel wool soap pad.
The best way to keep them clean is to wrap them in tin foil. Sometimes you get burnt on stains that are difficult to remove.
If they are really bad, buy replacements and keep them wrapped in tin foil, it's easier and cheaper to replace the tin foil than it is to scrub the stains or buy new ones.
Good luck
Just replace them. You can buy them at Wal Mart or anywhere. They are not expensive.
Wet the drip trays, then sprinkle on some Comet cleanser & let set for a while, then scrub with a Brillo or SOS pad. It works great. If you can't get them to clean up well, you can buy replacements at K Mart, Wal* Mart, etc. I have also wrapped each drip tray in aluminum foil & when they were soiled, I changed them. It saves doing the scrubbing thing.
I used Cascade diswasher detergent. I would just fill my sink with very, very hot water, add one- half cup of Cascade, let the pans soak for a little while, then wipe clean with a sponge, and - presto- they were clean and shiny!!
Best of all, no scrubbing.
Hope this helps.
we usually soak them for about 30 minutes in Comet cleaner than we take a old tooth brush and scrub our hearts out.or you can wrap them in tin foil to keep them new..hope that helps!
