How do I clean a lambswool duster?

If the duster can be removed from the stick, you can launder it in cold water and dry it on delicate. But, if it is like mine, it won't come off the stick and it cannot go in the washer as a result. So, I either fill up the laundry tub with water and add some detergent and hand wash it or I have even put it in the dishwasher when I wash loads of weird stuff, like my hubby's baseball hats, poufs from the bathroom, etc. Either way I usually put it in the dryer on the rack to make certain it gets thoroughly dried (it stinks if it doesn't).
