You go to Home Depot, and buy a cover for your vent, they have kinds with screen type covers, flaps, and much more, for only a couple of dollars.
I've noticed in the aprtments I live at, in the vents they put up some type of fencing/chicken wire so that air still comes out but birds are unable to nest

Put a screen over the outlet for your dryer vent. If they can't get in there, they can't build the nest. You will need to go out there and change the screen yearly so lint build-up doesn't kill the airflow in your vent.
