I googled muriatic acid the other day. You may want to try that, as there are lots of articles on the acid and I would think you could find the answer there.

Muriatric acid is used to clean and etch concrete in preparation for painting. The only thing you can do is get more and put it on the rest of the concrete to try and even it out and blend in the stain.
