Some hair blowers have two settings. If you push the button upward you'll get hot (or cold) if you push it in the opposite direction you'll get just the opposite. Check that out. Also some have a cold air button, is that the culprit? Hope it's as simple as this.
Sounds like your heating element is gone. I don't know how to repair dryers but the Internet can tell you how to replace it.
I had the same problem. The heating element had to be replaced.
Get Hubby/boyfriend to fix it. That's one of his duties.
If this dryer is gas, then your pilot light is out and if it has a automatic ignition then the ignition is in need of replacement, you can relight the pilot but you will need to consult a repairman for the igniter and if you are handy with fixing things you could possibly contact the manufacture to get a new part and install it yourself, and if your dryer is an electric dryer it could be the element that has gone, or simply your dryer is blocked you will have to check your vent to see if there is any lint built up in it, you can do this by going behind the dryer and removing the the dryer vent hose or go outside where your vent is venting outside and use a straightened out wire clothes hanger and push it in to the vent and if you hit something spongy then this is dryer lint you can easily remove this lint by gently pulling the lint out with the hanger. Good Luck !
For what they cost these days just replace it. It is extremely dangerous to poke about inside if you not a qualifed electrician. Why risk it?
If it's a newer gas model it's probably the glow stick or some part connected to it. If it's electric then it's some part connected to the heater element. You will probably have to call a repairman, but it shouldn't be too expensive. I've had to replace the "glow stick" on the dryer once, and it wasn't too bad of an expense. The other time there was a lot of lint on the parts and it just needed cleaning.
