Answers:
Of course there are.Theres regulations for every sodding thing nowadays. This govt likes regulations, and the pencil-necked geeks that enforce them like their job way too much

Would not have thought so, how would it be policed? Presumably they get hosed down now and again, especially after and "accident"~ which must happen in those places...
I'm not sure where you live but here in Southern California you don't see ball pits anymore. At some point they removed all of the balls most likely due to health and safety reasons. I also wonder about those indoor playgrounds! How many kids climb through those tubes and have accidents? Pretty gross when you think about it. How well are those cleaned out on a regular basis? Yuk!
I worked at McDonalds a number of yrs... ago and the ball pit balls were cleaned/sanitized in the huge back sinks every night and put into clear trash bags until the next day. When the balls were emptied the pit was scrubbed down... It was a pain... It's not there anymore... You can always ask the place what their procedure is with the pit area..
