How can i keep my daughters clothes from shrinkingin the dryer?
Question:I put them on low heat, i've tried putting them on air dry but they just don't dry that way.
is there a trick to do to keep it from happening??
thanks!
Answers:
The only way is to air dry them honestly. Even if you take them out slightly damp, they still will have shrunk some.
The best thing to do is to air dry them, and then toss them in the dryer for about 5 minutes on low heat to get the stiffness out.
Hang dry or use the no heat setting on the dryer.
don,t put them in the dryer
Try washing them in cold water and tumble dry if air drying isn't an option.
hang dry them that way there is no risk with the dryer
wash them on a lower temp, and hang them up to dry. or better still hang them outside if you can
Are you sure they are not shrinking in the wash before they even get put in the dryer? Lots of clothes shrink from warm or hot water. Wash in cold water and Hang to dry - don't use the dryer. Yes, cold water will get them clean!
I agree with everyone. Clothes I dont want to shrink I will handgon hangers outside, on a tree or something, even! This way, the hangers allow the weight of the wet clothes to kind of "pull" on them and stop from shrinking. It helps to have a little breeze, too. Maybe try a fan outside??
I never use hot to wash clothes.
Sheets, towels and whites go in a warm cycle, then dried.
Colored items go in cold cycle, then dried.
Give that a try, since the hot cycle is really only there to sanitize clothing...and my rule is if I need it to be sanitized, is it really something I wanna keep around the house?
dont put them in the dryer-
hang them somewhere to dry
