What removes carbon stains?

Question:I have chef jackets and they've acquired carbon stains over the past few months of starting culinary school. i need help in removing them because nothing I've tried has worked. Anyone have any suggestions?

Answers:
Have you tried Krud Kutter? It is a household cleaner that you can find at Lowes home improvement center. It is fume free, biodegradable, non-toxic and you can use it straight or in the ratios on the back mixed with water. The only reason I suggest it is that I had a fire a few months ago and it removed soot, smoke stains, ash when nothing else would. In fact, I haven't found a stain yet that it couldn't remove. And, it is safe to use on carpet, upholstery and garments.
