When washing baby clothes for the first time do you use a fabric softener?

Question:I am washing my sons clothes to get his hospital bag ready, I have used Dreft to wash the clothes and am about to dry dry them should I use fabric softener sheets or not

Answers:
aside from allergies, fabric softener makes fabric less fire retardant and less absorbent. Stick with the Dreft ONLY!

You can but you may your son could possibly have an allergy to the fragrance. I recommend skipping it this time and then purchasing a hyperallergenic fabric softener.
hello
do everything u do
for u..
because its a baby only in eating and diapers.
best
I think dreft has a fabric softener. I used regular softener on my baby and she did not have a reaction to it. I know all babies are different though.
I wouldn't .he might be allergic
I washed my childrens clothes in Dreft to begin with without adding fabric softner, then when they were a month or so old I added fabric softner. You never know if they are allergic to something unless you try. Most kids aren't.
I wouldn't...... When my children were born, I used Ivory Flakes and never used any type of fabric softener until they were at least 5.
