Dryer vent maintenance?

Question:

Answers:
The vent is the 4 inch tube usually on the back of the dryer. You must pull the dryer from the wall, remove the hose from the dryer, and, depending on the length, direction, etc., pull the lint out, push a brush thru, or whatever it may take. Some new mobile homes have vent caps that have a crosshatch cover over them. This is easily removable and definitely clogs quickly. If you have this, remove it and throw it away, as the only thing it really does is get clogged.

Hope that covers what you need... If not, please be more specific!

Not normally needed unless you have the old style vinyl hose from the dryer to the vent pipe. You should replace this with a metal flex hose so as to avoid a fire hazard.
There is a long, tubular brush now available at almost all stores, ie. Walmart, Target, and Sears, that you put through the trap in the dryer, in and out motion, that cleans out the lint in the vent...love it - it keeps the amount of lint down that used to create fuzz balls on clothes and towels!!
be sure that all of the vents are free of lint and that the hose is free of blockages an attached to the dryer and the outside vent effectively.
