How do i get rid of the horrible dog smell in my house?
Question:We rescued a little dog several months ago. Chico (the dog) has since done very well in his potty training, if the kids stay on top of it. The problem is the smell is in the carpet, walls, probably both. Does any one know a product guarenteed to stop the smell?
Answers:
Go to PETCO and get a gallon jug of SIMPLE SOLUTION. Its a enzyme eater that will eliminate the odor in the carpets. Removes stains too!
Nothing's guaranteed and if the carpet pad is involved, you may fight the smell for a LONG time! You can waste a lot of money on products that only mask the odor. Try putting down plain baking soda liberally, let it sit for 3 or 4 hours (maybe even overnight) and then vacuum. Don't neglect to empty the vacuum cleaner bag when you're done, or you'll have that smell every time you vacuum! Ground coffee is another thing you can try, although not as economical.

found on net : "use Arm & Hammer Pet fresh. You just sprinkle it on the carpet, let it chill for 15 minutes and vaccumme. IF it is inthe sofa buy a blanket just for dogs at the store and put it in the spot they lay. IF it is in the bed wash that *****. IF its not a washable zipper one then get a new bed."
if you have electric heat and air one way is put the freshner where the filter is they make a freshner to put wheere the filter goes and when you run the air in your house the smell will come through the vents. very effective.
fabreeze also stores carry carpet fresh that eleminates pet odors
