How do you get sweat stains out of sheets?
Question:My husband sweats a lot in his sleep. I have tried tide, stain removers, and bleach but I can still see the discolorations in the sheets. Is there anything that will take this out?
Answers:
I make a soak of 1 cup auto dishwasher powder
1 cup clothes detergent, and 1 cup bleach. Start with as hot a water as your machine will put out. Let the ingredients agitate till mixed well and add your sheets. Let agitate for two minutes and then let soak overnight. In the morning put thru the longest wash cycle available. Check for stains before drying and soak with a new solution if necessary for 8 more hours. If this doesn't work, buy new sheets.
honey i feel your pain. first thing first change your sheets EVERY DAY. i can not stress this enough. you can also use calgon, bleach, oxy clean and let it soak. if you have that option on your washing machine. if they are colored sheets use clorox 2 for colors. stay away from tide because it has cancer causing angents with in the ingredients. i only use gain. soaking and hand scrubbing might not want to be the answer you want to hear but with the amount of body soil my husband leaves i have no other choice even the soak and prewash does not work on the washer. so like i said just change the sheets every day the sooner you wach the stain the better.
Another solution is to start using dark-colored sheets so the stains aren't as noticable.
I have heard white vinegar can be used for taking underarm stains out of shirts and for setting dye in dark clothes. or try a laundry booster called Borax.
