Why do "non-iron" shirts tell you what temperature to set the iron?

Just because it says non iron does not mean it is iron free, this just means you don't have to iron if you don't want to they will stay wrinkle free, but if you choose to iron then you may do so they are simply saying if you choose to iron then you must set it at a lower temperature as they are made to resist wrinkles thats all this means

Because some people choose to iron "Non-iron" shirts. And, because different fabrics take different temperatures. Also, If the iron temperature is too low, any wrinkles that exist will probably not be removed--if the iron temperature is too hot there's a possibility the fabric may be scorched.
Many of the costumers usually do iron their "non-iron" clothes. The company thought it a good idea to advertise a temperature setting, to ensure the users do not burn, or damage, their clothes by using a temperature that is too high. "Do not Iron" usually gives the costumer the choice of ironing or not without having to worry about the wrinkled appearance.

I guess they can still wrinkle, and should you iron you don't want to set too high and scorch them. Happy ironiong!
my sons school trousers say non iron but when they come out of the dryer they still need ironing. Its there to look at if you need to.
