Can i mix colours and whites in cold water when doing laundry?

Depends on the colors. Most clothes say to wash with like colors. white will pick up even a trace of color put out by the other colors. You could end up with "dull whites". Best to keep them separate.
yes you can. I always wash my white towels, blue jeans and white socks together in hot water with bleach and soap. However, I have shirts and pants that are white that I do not want to wash with that load and I only have a few items so wash them in cold water with the rest of my darks. Just don't put anything red in the wash with them...
could can but its not wise if you have any reds or blues you might end up with everything that color
I wouldn't on the grounds that it's better to be safe than sorry!
Well if the colors have been washed before but make sure they don't bleed on the whites..LOL I made the mistake of washing a red shirt one time with hubbie's undies.. they came out pink.
Even in cold water some strong colors (reds & blues & blacks) can still bleed color even if they have been washed before. It's not really a good idea if you want to keep your whites, white. I managed a laundromat and the people whose clothes all had a greyish sort of tinge to them washed all their colors together. So if you like dirty grey as a color, then go ahead (Just Kidding!!)
Probably best not to mix colors.
yes you can, but your whites and lighter clothes will get dingy and discolored eventually. Try throwing in a Shout Color Catcher Cloth with it, works in warm water and even with reds in the load. You can find the product in the laundry cleaning supply section of most stores. Costs around 3 dollars US if memory serves me and you get 24 cloths in the box.
